A success in Spain with a gathering of EU media stars
Steve Safran July 16th, 2007
Screw Vegas - I’m back from Streaming Media Training at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain where I had the most enjoyable time I’ve ever had at a conference. This was the anti-Vegas. Small, intimate, and with the nicest bunch of people I’ve ever met at a seminar. We had 16 attendees from 10 different countries at this European Union-sponsored event. I taught two classes, and learned considerably more from the students than I suspect they did from me. The people were exceptional. Their companies each paid $1,650 for them to attend. Our media companies need to learn from that and start investing in our new media employees’ training and education. Holding a small conference was more educational and more enjoyable than a massive gathering of 100,000 people in Sin City could ever hope for. A huge thank you to Adolfo Munoz Garcia for organizing the event and to Dan Rayburn for the recommendation. Muchos gracias a todos por su ayuda.
