Recipezaar was as "kick in the ass" from the get go! It's palgued by arrogant worker bees that even Scripps can't drone out. The endeavor to be "everything to everybody" has been a boom to bust "recipe" for disaster from the first .com to launch. Recipezaar was there, is there, and will be there. Even Scripps cannot put a spine back into a broken backed camel. If you want "quality", and not just a brainbusting slab of "quantity" check out Chowhound.com, or any of many non-braingushing websites. Scripps may be able to make it work, but that's doubtful with current employees, staff, and attitudes. Just go there.....basque in the "sites" of MEGA online MEDIA, or fork up your $25/yr for the "burden" of what they do best.....suck your pockets dry, and avail you to tons of material that's totally free on the web....even without all the commercial crap. 'Zaar sold out, and they sold out BIG. They have now done their latest "upgrade" and it's atrocious! What's that thingy about pride coming/going before the fall? You can buy a CD to organize your recipes for 1/2 the cost of one yearly membership, do it "your way", and cut Scripps right out of your pocketbook. Urrghhhh! Corporations looking to make my life entrapped and more complicated......I'm confused....LOL! Bettcha Scripps dumps this baby within a year as a loss. You just simply can't "make a silk purse out of a sows ear".

You now need to be a Premium Member in order to print out a recipe.

Recipezaar is a FUCKING joke now.

Notice Food Network talent pumping their shitty recipes at TGIF's and Applebee's, same idea. They just want to feed us shit and overcharge us for it, or assign exorbitant values to public information.

Has everyone been able to get their recipes back? I got onto recipezaar for the first time today and was able to access recipes but I couldn't open anyones cookbooks...do you think that's my lack of tech ability or could it be something to do with the site? How do you think they will integrate Food Network and recipezaar?

Re: "Lutie -I found your comment interesting about the dollar. You may be the only caterer on the planet that isn’t interested in turning a profit. A buck = a dollar. Or is it only acceptable in your frame of reference to make a profit, not for anyone else? I have a feeling that you do a great job in your business, and as you I am sure know, you cannot please all the people all the time. Somethings are beyond your control, and I am sure you would appreciate that a client would not speak poorly of you should there be a power outage during an event that they provided a kitchen for you to cook a dinner atcausing a delay in service."

Answer to the statement made:
It makes one wonder how much stock your portfolio has in Scripps Network. Read again, sweet one, what I said. You skipped the word, "only"; it changes the meaning of what I said. FYI
I did have an off-site wedding for 400 where all the electricity went out for over 24 hours and I still managed to have all the food hot, delicious, and ready for my clients ... it is called "Professionalism" and when someone depends upon me, they know that I am ready for all things thrown at me... even your attempt at sarcasm. My clients have my business phone, my cell phone, and my home phone numbers. Being able to be reached at all times is the sign of a reputable business.

So, "chelle", maybe you are not familiar with what the term "professional" is, but it means that your customer, client, et al, is always the most important. It is sweet that you are such a positive person, but one who takes money for something should always be prepared to properly take care of any situation to the client's satisfaction.

It is amazing what some internet companies do to hide from their customers, but one must also look at their mental maturity. They can pull the plug whenever they wish; we found that out today. Enough said.

Cheers Buster's friend for having the courage to say it like it is-your comments to chelle made me laugh. I am one of those affected and although the site is back up now it is now running too slowly for me with my dialup to use it. It's like watching paint dry. One thing chelle got right was that it it is my right to get upset. While I find it hard to belive the squatter story ( are we then too to look out to further problems from recioezaar site-note close spelling:-0 ... I'm no techie so clueless to how these things go. In the end tho it's not the site downtime that has me upset or but the inconvenience, and the fact that there was absolutely no way to contact anyone about the problems I was experiencing. I hope that buster's friend's comments about there needing to be a contact method other than zaars internet site is taken seriously as I feel that that was the real problem here today.

;) No worries Buster. Sorry if you are offended that I misunderstood your sarcasm and mistakenly accepted credit for making either of you smile. As I mentioned earlier, I was only speaking for myself and simply stated MY opinion, as I am sure YOU are doing. I really just felt like trying to lighten things up a bit as the tone of these posts seemed to be getting quite negative.

I am glad you found something in Michelle S then to smile about and hope you got the "outside" email contact you have been seeking. ;) :)

Thanks for clearing the air, Troy!! ;) If it makes anyone feel better, my site still looks the same as always and although perhaps a bit slower than usual, I am confident you and the "elves" are doing everything possible to get the situation resolved for us as quickly as possible. I am sure everyone can feel MUCH better now that they will not be inconvenienced more than a couple of hours worth of their $25 annual membership. ;)

Michelle S. and buster's friend ~ glad I could make you smile in the midst of your mini crisis. ;) I've just learned through certain life and work experiences that situations such as this are not worth getting worked up over. There is usually a root cause (i.e. the "squatter" Troy referred to who has actually caused this issue, NOT the acquisition).

We simply have choices in life- focus on the positive or the negative in any given situation. It doesn't change the situation, but it can improve qualityof life for you. Simply a life lesson it takes some longer to learn. ;)

I, for one, can't wait for everyone to get back online so Zaarlife can resume as usual. ;)

DOOM on those nasty squatters.... ;)
