Fall shows leak online, some think it’s intentional

A host of television shows set to debut or return this fall already have episodes floating around on Torrent networks, leading some to speculate that the “massive leak” is anything but piracy. Episodes of Weeds, Chuck, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Pushing Daisies, Californication, Reaper and Brotherhood can all be picked up online right now.

I can’t wait for Brotherhood. It’s almost time to resubscribe to Showtime.

It’s not the first time this has happened, in fact, this is probably the fourth season that many of the fall pilots are available before they air.
The big change this season was that for the most part, they didn’t surface until mid-summer. Last year, a flood of them hit the bittorrent sites just after the upfronts.
In fact, the most unusual leak I’ve seen was an episode of the canceled “Smith.” A roughly edited unaired episode was leaked online, complete with timecodes, raw audio and temp effects.

I’ve seen the NBC Fall piolts (legally) and have to say they look pretty good. I was expecting to like them in the following order:
1. Chuck
2. Bionic Woman
3. Journeyman
4. Life
But instead, I ended up liking them as such:
1. Journeyman (this show surprised me how good it was)
2. Chuck
3. Bionic Woman
4. Life
This doesn’t mean ‘Life’ was bad, but it’s a cop show, and I’ve never been one much for cop shows after ‘Homicide: LotS’ went off the air.
My wife loved Bionic Woman.

Where did you legally get to see these NBC shows?

The NBC stations have already received copies of the first episodes of all those shows on DVD.

Seriously, tho, any ETA on if/when NBC will distribute samples to media?

@ John, what is Medelin? Never heard of that, so the answer would be ‘no.’
FYI, the eps were rough cuts with some unfinished Special FX shots (particularly in the case of Bionic Woman), which we were told would be cleaned up. Did not distract from the show though.
