I found a similar ad conflict back in January with a NASCAR story about the Cingular AT&T debacle.

There were 2 prominent Alltel ads featuring the Alltel racecar placed around the story about the Cingular AT&T Team that featured a picture of the Cingular race car.

All this in a story about how Nextel Sprint is trying to minimize the impact of these rival sponsors that are locked into the series from when it was the Winston Cup.

Which Ad? The BP ad, or the ad for Comcast with the word GUILTY in big, bold letters next to the article.

Either way, both ads fit. Priceless.

We get this type of thing all the time with our contextual ads. Story about a deadly fire on a cruise ship? You can safely bet there will be a banner ad for a cruise travel agency.

Our audience always thinks we're specifying the ad, but the only way to deal with it through remnant providers is to suppress it after it runs, because you never know which advertisers are in rotation at any given time.
