Setup in dire need of a punchline

Steve Safran August 29th, 2007

From Huffington Post: “U.S. computer company Apple Inc. and German automaker Volkswagen AG are discussing the possibility of building an “iCar” which would feature products by the producer of the ubiquitous iPod personal music player.”

I am confident one of you can take this softball of a setup line and hit the punchline out of the park in our comments. This is also photoshop contest waiting to happen.

It was all going so well until they hit the “shuffle” button during the crash test.

Price for the basic model starts at $1000, but with all the add ons, upgrades and accessories such as tires, wipers, bumpers, seat belts and glass windows, the price tag jumps to 6 figures. Yes, a bit pricey then other car models, but Apple people want to pay more for these products.

Oh, and it will probably be a couple of months before someone hacks into the engine, unlocks the german software and makes it into a Ford.

Not very good, but, “Because having an ‘Eddie Bauer edition’ is so 80’s.”

I would laugh if they came out with a U2 edition, though having a Green Day edition may work with Scions.

(Worth1000.com needs to have a Photoshop contest on this topic.)

You have to ship the car back to Apple when the battery needs to be replaced.

    Kid3 - Ha ha!

To navigate, you need to press your finger on the windshield and drag.

    Left, Right, Fast, Slow.

Tapping on the windshield brings up a menu that displays mileage, weather, and YouTube videos.

Via the on board GPS, Google Maps displays are displayed in real time on the windshield and their opacity can be adjusted.

Screen shots of your windshield view can be saved and uploaded directly to flickr.

“Screen shots of your windshield view can be saved and uploaded directly to flickr.”

Searching for the best parking spot takes on a whole new meaning.

I don’t understand how you’ll be able to drive with only one pedal. Am I going to have to control-pedal to brake?
