Can anyone else smell the Nielsen fear here?

I understand the impetus to start a service like this. But who wants to be associated with a company that does nothing for you and everything for the content creators, and only the rich and powerful ones?

And why would a company that has prided itself on its scientific data collection and analysis methods (or pseudo-scientific) move into a purely anecdotal service?

And back to the audience... Why the hell would I use a Nielsen social networking service? Hmmm... how much of a blatant corporate tool do I want to be today?

Is there going to be a Yiddish-related site called
Oy! Nielsen
[as what some say when the ratings don't hit targets]
