The 30-second ad is nothing compared to one of the others on the CBS News site. I had to sit through a MINUTE-LONG preroll ad. And, of all things, it was for Viagra - which probably isn't exactly of much interest to the majority of visitors.

I could make a 'painfully long' joke there - but I'm sure you're way ahead of me...

While I do much prefer 10-15 second ads myself for online video, thirty seconds is NOT painfully long. It is not lightning fast, but it's still just thirty seconds.

Unless you were being sarcastic. Then I digress.

Listening to Katie Couric for 30 seconds is painfully long.

She is the female Tom Grunick of broadcast news.

When this experiment fails and CBS throws in the towel, Moonves will try a female anchor duo on the CBS Evening News.......with Katie Couric and Julie Chen. It will finally be called CBSTMZ.
