i've been waitng for the "katrina" reference.

anybody else figure these local stations are had for awhile after this?

so many people (viewers) left n.o. after katrina and haven't returned and may never.

although cal is no n.o., there are gonna be some po'd people who watch $$$$$$ flow to so cal that hasn't YET made it to so la.

all in all, when you lose 1000 homes+ there has to be some major population disruption.

apologies to the news site. and which one was it?

as to how, they are just linking data points as they and others did during Katrina.

no different I would guess than the way they and craig's list show where to find listed aparftments for rent on a city street map.

Google didn't take the lead... it was a news website that took the initiative to create it. My question is how did they do it, because I want to use those tools on my site.

Great example of how you can mash together data visually and offer both help and information in a single frame.

That Google took the lead on this should embarrass the hell out of the news web sites.
