Reviews are now officially killing this thing.

USA TODAY: "The secret life of bees, as told by Seinfeld, is a bore with a capital B."

WSJ: "Bee Movie isn't a B movie, it's a Z movie, as in dizmal."

Washington Post: "Bee Movie feels phoned in on every level."

Chicago Trib: "Given the Seinfeld pedigree it's something of a disappointment."

Pioneer-Press: ""It's not worth seeing, but if all the hype has you expecting a classic, you should lower your expectations."

On the plus side: Owen Glieberman at EW gave it an A- and the Star-Trib gives it a 4/4.

A.O. Scott at NY Times seems to like it, if you can get through his word acrobatics: "These riffs on identity politics, a durable if sometimes risky source of humor in American pop culture, give “Bee Movie” an extra fillip of comic vitality — the hint of a sting, if you will, in an otherwise soft and fuzzy entertainment."

I remember for a Beatles special several years back, ABC rebranded itself A-Beatles-C and even modified their logo. Anyone remember any other such brand pairings?

Now if they had made a movie about nothing instead of "A Bees Life" then I think they would have had something.

The commercials annoy the snot out of me.

If they were just movie ads, I'd say, "These are better than typical movie ads. How refreshing."

But billed as mini pieces of content, I'm thinking, "These really aren't that good. And what do they have to do with NBC anyway?"

Jerry's HP commercial makes me want to barf.

It may backfire - Bee Movie's only getting a 54% fresh rating at Rotten Tomatoes. (Click my name.) You don't want to be(e) associated with a flop...

There's one theater in my town with a single screen and there's only one other theater within a hundred miles.

This morning, I received my weekly newsletter of what will be playing at the theater next week and though my daughter would probably enjoy the "Bee Movie", I told my wife that I'm not sure that I'd really like to go because I'm just so sick of the advertisements.

(Though, we'll still probably go, but I'm also going to try and push my daughter toward waiting until "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium" (which I've heard nothing about) starts on the following week and saving the Bees until it comes out on DVD)
