TiVo HD commercial airs in standard-def

I was watching a game on ESPN HD today and an ad for TiVo’s new HD DVR appeared… in standard definition. Why would you need a TiVo HD DVR if you weren’t watching in HD in the first place? My wife Kate suggests that networks should charge more for advertisers to run standard-def spots, instead of the reverse.
