Fox to produce ‘Family Guy’ shows without creator

Seth McFarlane, the creator of Family Guy, is on strike with the WGA and, not surprisingly, openly defiant with his employers. Those employers, Fox, have decided to go ahead with production on new episodes of his show without him. The first one made without his sign-off has already been delivered. In addition to executive-producing the show, MacFarlane voices the characters of Peter, Brian and Stewie. If we had LR Polls, we could all make our “Suck” or “Not Suck” predictions, but instead, the new LR Circuit Board is a great place for a free range discussion on the war between the suits and the creatives.

Yes, it’s a horribly bad idea. On the other hand, remember Ren and Stimpy post-John K?

Ever since the campaign to get Family Guy back on the air, MacFarlane believes that he can do whatever he wants with his cartoon and get away with it, and it appears he’s right. It has become a terrible show, although it does offer some insights into MacFarlane’s psyche… He seems to be obsessed with pedophilia (the creepy old guy) and homosexuality (everything else).
He needs to grow up. And show something else on TBS!

Ren And Stimpy was awesome in season one… once John K left it degenerated into pure crap.

Family Guy has lost its touch in Season 5, regardless. Whereas American Dad has gotten better and better.
And as for the Ren & Stimpy thing: Ren & Stimpy has sucked, even with the creator.
