In a first for network TV, NBC said it would bring the web show Quarterlife to TV early next year. As you can imagine, the deal was expedited by the WGA strike. Co-creator Marshall Herskovitz told Reuters that the WGA has determined that independently-made web shows are not subject to the strike. And the eight-minute episodes were designed to combine into one-hour episodes, which is exactly what NBC is planning to do. But it’ll be interesting to see what happens when NBC burns through the existing episodes (it’s unclear how many are written, although 36 are planned.)
