Entertainment Weekly’s ‘Best of the Web’
Don Day December 30th, 2007
After a long holiday week, I sat down at my local Barnes and Noble with a cup of Chai and Entertainment Weekly’s Best & Worst 2007 issue. I nearly fell over when I saw Lost Remote listed in the magazine’s “Best of the Web” section for 2007. Cory’s passion and work for nearly a decade garnered a mention under “Must Click Television.” EW dubbed LR as “A savvy blog chronicling TV happenings with a digital bent.”

See? As soon as I left, the site took off.
Next up: LR sells for $25 million.

Didn’t Cory offer you that equity position, Safran?

Chai? Dude…

@Don: I was fully vested in beer, so I cashed out.
I’m no dummy, though - I still have it under contract that, if LR sells, I get bar snacks, too.
@David: Seriously. And at Barnes & Noble. It’s like, “Mom won’t let me go to a real coffee shop, guys! She says it makes me jittery!” I bet he didn’t even pay for the magazine.
IRONY: The EW section on Best of the Web is not available on its website. Thanks.

No surprise to me. LR is the first click when I open Google Reader. Bravo.

and why are any one of us surprised…?
some things are earned and deserved..
and this certainly is.

Steve: This isn’t Seattle (thank God) - the coffee shop choices at 10pm on a Sunday aren’t that varied.
David: I’ve got nothin’.

Hooray! Someplace I’ve actually visited wins an award!

Great news! Congrats, Cory.
On coffee: For those outside of Seattle, keep in mind that we keep the good stuff for ourselves. Starbucks is our export brand.

I mean it’s cool and everything, but isn’t it ironic that you guys who are at the forefront of new media are fawning over being named to a best-of list printed in something as old-skool as a magazine?
:)

Hey SMB, we’ll take whatever we can get. (And we don’t usually bash magazines, as they’re actually a healthy growth category right now.)
Thanks everyone!
