If you log into Facebook right now (8p ET), you’ll see this very prominent ad at the top of your news feed:

Pretty powerful, if you ask me. You may remember back in November ABC News partnered with Facebook to power its new politics section.

Is it me or is it odd that the politics page on Facebook is ’sponsored’ by a single media outlet (linked included in post header)? Using this theory - what could stop a political action group, under the guise of a ‘media’ outlet from sponsoring their own similar page, but labeled with a generic name - thus leading to potential bias?
I’m all for getting ‘our’ generation engaged, but is it right to have a feature like this sponsored by a ‘potentially biased’ media outlet? (I use ‘potentially biased’ because most in my age group [the core FaceBook demographic] is very cautious against established media…).
