AP has written Britney’s obit

Cory Bergman January 17th, 2008

Last week, an internal AP memo surfaced that told its editors that anything involving Britney Spears “is a big deal.” Editors must have taken that advice to heart: now there’s word the AP has prepared her obituary, just in case. Of course, that’s not unusual for big celebs, but you may find it a little surprising for a 26 year old. “I think one would agree that Britney seems at risk right now,” said AP entertainment editor Jesse Washington.

Update: I couldn’t resist posting this (SNL in 1996)…

Britney is the news, whether or not you or I want to admit it. Search around and you will see the impact she has had. ET and TMZ see surges online and on-air in ratings points when Britney does something. Get with the times bud.

This isn’t news about Britney. It’s news about news about Britney. Thus, it is completely appropriate for this site.

Who is to decide what is and is not for this site other than the guys running the site? If LR wants to tell us about something they saw and you don’t like it, just skip the posting and go on to the next thing.
