Users react angrily to CNN.com story

Cory Bergman January 22nd, 2008

The story is headlined, “Gender or race: Black women voters face tough choices in South Carolina,” and many users didn’t like the story’s suggestion that black women face a “a unique, and most unexpected dilemma” between Clinton and Obama. So much so, in fact, CNN.com even wrote a follow-up story about the backlash.

Wow. Though I’m not surprised. Nice to see people standing up to such idiotic stories. Perhaps a real wake up is coming. Although I noticed CNN capped the comments at 28. Perhaps they could not stand the heat.

I’m not sure what black women CNN interviewed who had a a challenge with gender and race in this election, but let me make it clear all of the black women I’ve spoken know who they are voting for and why and none of the reason are gender or race. Hilary Clinton lost my vote when she voted for the War, and since the primaries have started she’s given me even more reason not to vote for her. Stop trying to play us like we’re stupid because we’re not. I could care less what your race or gender is as long as I agree with your policies and your past votes in congress. Maybe the people that’s having the problem is white men.

So apparently CNN thinks African American women are confused over which stereotyped, arbitrary racial or gender characteristic to base their choice of presidential candidate on.

How condescending! I thought one is supposed to disregard race, color, creed, gender, and sexual preference and vote for the most qualified candidate.

has Bill Clinton forgotten that he is a documented liar …puhleeze Mr President. You were misquoted, oh really…does he not realize that his campaign statements are online, ready to be replayed…his wife may have “forgotten” his past …I assure you that the rest of the world has NOT.

Hillary keeps saying she’s ready to run the government on day one, but she’s having a terrible time just keeping her campaign workers in line..money missing…phone calls not returned…changing strategy and managers midstream…whats next?
