Interview with WorldNow’s Gannaway

Cory Bergman January 28th, 2008

WorldNow President and CEO Gary Gannaway sat down for an interview with Broadcasting & Cable. Interestingly, WorldNow just closed a deal to manage the online ad inventory for the ABC reality program Supernanny.

“Gannaway spoke with B&C’s Michael Malone about how the Web can best serve television.”

Either this article is a reprint from 1999 or the editors at B & C still see the web as added promotional value for television.

Since when is anyone from WorldNow considered an expert on the topic. Have you seen their sites? They look like they came from 1999 and never updated.

Then again, Broadcast & Cable is a bit behind the online times themselves.

BTW - read Gannaway’s response about the importance of user generated content.

“I don’t want to say it’s a fad, but I don’t think it’s going to be nearly as important.”

Now I get WorldNow has been so slow to develop UGC for their clients.

UGC? They still have issues embracing Firefox, Safari, Opera, etc.

WorldNow’s video service (for clients not using their full websites) is miserable. Limited features and with poor customer service.

Yea and WorldNow sites can’t generate a valid RSS feed to save their collective bacons.
