Former Jobster CEO to ‘disrupt’ news industry

Former Jobster CEO Jason Goldberg is working on a stealth startup called Social Median to “participate in the disruption” of traditional news. No details yet, other than the company will strive to deliver more relevant, personalized news to users. “I don’t think anyone has cracked the code on helping consumers get their news,” Goldberg says.

He may want to take a look at the litter-fest that is Yahoo’s home page…that’s what happens when you deliver “relevant, personalized news” to users.

From a larger cultural point, these are bad ideas; our faltering Republic requires an (somewhat) educated citizenry. If all I want to read about are how wonderfully tax-protesters are doing in Federal courts, well, I may end up with something of a myopic view of the world.

    What say ye?
