Baby put up for sale on TV site’s classifieds
Don Day March 26th, 2008
Speaking of classifieds offerings in the Salt Lake City market — KUTV.com is working with police in the Utah capital in an attempt to track down the person who posted the ad — complete with picture. The ad was posted March 22 — and KUTV says it was up for a short time before administrators removed it. The site’s news account says the listing put forth a six-month-old for $6,560 “listed as ‘used,’ but ‘beautifule [sic] and affectionate with so much love to offer.’” Right now police don’t know if the listing was real - or a hoax.

After looking up a cached version of the ad and doing some searches on Google, I strongly suspect this ad is either someone’s idea of a sick joke or is being used as a scam to dup people out of their money - not an actual baby for sale.
The phone number used in the ad is a landline Seattle number (with no carrier listed) and if you do a google search on the phone number it has been used in various ads with random names all over the country, including 419 scams, puppy sales and curiously, one ad for a little boy for sale in Seattle with similar language to the ad on KUTV.
I’m presuming someone from KUTV or anyone in the Salt Lake market reads this site. If there is, email me at amanda dot emily at gmail dot com and I’ll forward the links I found online.

Click my name for screenshots and addition info.
The ad appears to be a different tactic of the good ole “Nigerian Puppy Scam” and not a real baby for sale.
Remember folks, you saw it here first via the web, not the evening newscast

That’s a good price, too. I paid better than 10K for my illegal adoption
(fortunately, Hearst-Argyle’ll reemburse you up to 5k for adoptions)
