Just about any major national site offering political news is experiencing tremendous gains. I'm not sure why people are doubtful. It's the heat of the campaign season.

i only took issue with wisn because it was the centerpiece of an argument made by someone else.

i meant no disrespect to my friends in milwaukee.

but the larger issue of an accurate count does remain... H/A's ceo was quoted at the annual shareholder's meeting a day or so ago as saying "nearly 2 million viewers visited our (30) properties TODAY".

that would equate well over 50 million per month.

hmmm, nielsen sez 17 million per month over the entire SEVENTY ib properties.

damn straight somebody better learn how to count.

Hmmm. Compete's numbers are way, way off for us. Our visitor numbers are about six times higher than they're reporting.

So, it's a lot like NetNielsen, which is also off by wide margins.

Will someone ever find a method for accurately measuring these things, or is it impossible?

suffice it to say the charts pretty much speak for themselves.

what's that a fifth of cnn.com and a quarter of msnbc.com?

would that abcnews did its site as well as its press releases.

would that.

Hey Rocker ... "Implausible?" "No evidence?" Wonder why? May be it has something to do with those four magic words: "according to ABC's measurements?"

I'm a little suspicious. Beyond "Debate-gate" undoubtedly driving a ton of traffic, I just haven't seen anything on the site or on the air that would account for this. Suspect it has something to do with some kind of distribution arrangement...widgets? Co-branded video players with affiliates? That would be noteworthy in and of itself, but the idea that the ABCNews.com site itself is all of a sudden a runaway destination hit seems implausible. There's also no evidence to support this in Comscore...yes, I know Comscore sucks but it would almost certainly directionally at least catch a big move like this.
