Limelight gears up for Olympic streams
Don Day July 22nd, 2008
Limelight is gearing up to stream 5,200 hours of content online for the Beijing Olympics for NBC/MSNBC.com - about 2,200 hours live and 3,000 of clips. The massive undertaking is thought to be the largest video streaming effort in history. “It won’t surprise us if (the Beijing Olympics) breaks all the records,” said Gordon, Limelight’s chief strategy officer told The Hollywood Reporter.
“We’re adapting to the way Americans born after 1980 are consuming content.”

What a dumb thing to say. It sounds like something someone born before ‘80 would say in an effort to sound edgy and cool. *Yawn*
I was born in ‘76 and watch waaaaay more streaming video than my wife who was, OMG, born in ‘80.

Now if someone would cover at least SOME of the Paralympics (like the rest of the frelling world does) I’d be a happy camper!

i find a lot of people born after 1976 to be clueless and I first used a computer in 1979, at the age of 13. The Bicentennial saw my 10th birthday and since that year I have devoted my life to telling the children that Debbie Harry was a far better rap star than Kid Rock and she, Spanky McFarlane and Grace Slick are the coolest senior citizens they might ever meet.
Oh yeah, and don’t be like Wendy O. Williams, whatever you do.
