DISH telemarketer calls our hospital room
Cory Bergman July 24th, 2008
I apologize in advance for my snarky blogging today, as I’m running on very little sleep with a new baby. And just a few minutes ago, a DISH Network telemarketer called my wife’s hospital room where she was asleep for one of the first times since undergoing a C-section. It started with a canned announcement, and then when prompted I hit “1″ to talk to the telemarketer . When I told him where he had called (whispering) and told him to put the number on his do not call list, he didn’t even apologize. Instead, he said in a mocking fashion, “Oh, oh, thank you sir,” and hung up on me. DISH, are you really THAT desperate for business?

I would regularly get these calls at work and I got the same sarcastic response. I’d forgotten on how annoying and frequent the calls were and that’s when they were calling an office. To call a hospital? Losers.
CONGRATS on the little one

How absolutely ridiculous!!!! If I was the telemarketer on the other side of that phone call — I would’ve felt terrible.
But congratulations on the new additions to your family– you must be so proud!

How did they get the numberr of the hospital room? Are they just dailing random numbers now?

Seriously? That’s out of bounds. Even for a telemarketing firm.
Maybe the hospital has to put their number(s) on the do not call list. Have you mentioned it to anyone there?
