‘Entertainment Tonight’ teams with MSN

Cory Bergman August 4th, 2008

MSN has teamed with CBS’ Entertainment Tonight to be the exclusive entertainment provider for the portal, spanning MSN Television, MSN Music and MSN Movies. Explains Broadcasting & Cable:

MSN will sell advertising for the portal, but in a syndication-like model, CBS is getting a cash guarantee plus a revenue split for advertising sales. For CBS, the deal is expected to gross well into the seven figures in the first year.

ET has beefed up its online staff 30 percent and is switching to a 24/7 news cycle to accommodate the partnership. (Full disclosure: I work for msnbc.com, a joint venture of Microsoft and NBCU).
