Local TV’s top advertisers

TV Week has the chart of the top 10 local TV advertisers and their growth/decline over last year. As you can see, most have declined, thanks in part to the economy. Meanwhile, Comcast continues its aggressive marketing push in both services and content.

Most categories are down but Telecomms are up… I bet the Comcast increase reflects advertising for bundled services that include phone and internet. That’s certainly the case for Time-Warner in my DMA.
Verizon communications is down, but does that include Verizon Wireless (which is a separate company)? All of the wireless companies have increased spending in our market.

I see more of John Minegar and Team Mazda that Cal Worthington was seen in his entire life. Everything else is a PSA.
