Gannett sites stream album, link Amazon

Updated: Gannett has inked a deal with Capitol Records and Brian Wilson, the former Beach Boy, to debut the singer’s new album online. You can visit any of Gannett’s newspaper and TV sites and listen to the entire album, “That Lucky Old Sun” (see it in action on KUSA’s site, 9News.com here.) If you’re in the mood to buy, you’ll be directed to Amazon.com where you can pre-order it. It’s a first for Gannett as well as the first time we’ve heard of an artist debuting an album on local media sites. Screen grab…

  1. This actually as already started. It runs through Sept. 1 on usatoday.com, more than 30 local Gannett newspaper sites and more than 20 Gannett local TV station sites.

  3. I was visiting one of Gannett’s local TV sites and saw the huge Brian Wilson ad and wondered if he was coming in concert to my market. Nope, it’s just a Gannett corporate deal, just like one-man bands and cancelled newscasts. Yawn…

  4. When Amazon sells used stereo gear and parts maybe I’ll listen. It’s bad enough I’m forced to ditch eBay next month because of Paypal only and the way they slaughter the sellers and want to commit suicide…nothing else out there.
