So how many people watch online TV?

Cory Bergman September 5th, 2008

Nearly one-fifth of Americans connected to the internet, finds a new study. That number is double the last time the study was conducted two years ago. “”Being able to watch broadcasts on their own time and at their convenience are clearly reasons why we are seeing a greater number turning to the Internet. And, it is the reason why we would expect to see this trend continue,” says Lynn Franco, Director of The Conference Board Consumer Research Center.

do you guys ever update this site, or is it more of an anthology kind of deal?

Other than local news and some of the Olympic and convention coverage, I don’t know when the last time that I watched an actual television. Of course this will probably change as the fall premieres start rolling because there’s certain shows that my wife and I can watch together, but I don’t know that I’ve watched five hours on an actual set (excluding news) since before the strike.

And, if one or the other stations in my market were to stream their late news, I’d probably never even walk into the other room.

(Now excuse me, but Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert have updated in my Hulu queue)

I just discovered that pulling up You Tube by the cache address can be a lot more managable and easier to browse than from the site. Runs better fullscreen for me.

Still, Browser TV stinks for the most part. There is no point in timeshifting your life. Too many other things are out there and there’s even more WORK to do to play with a computer.
