Google brings location-aware feature to maps

Posted by Cory Bergman on February 4, 2009

This was only a matter of time: Google has launched an addition to its maps service, “Latitude,” that allows you to track your friends’ physical locations. It’s available inside iGoogle and on Blackberry and Windows Mobile 5.0+, with Android and iPhone compatibility coming soon. Of course, this functionality isn’t anything new, as services like Brightkite have been offering it for quite some time. But Google will bring a new level of awareness.
