There’s something new in the social stream worth checking out: Blockchalk. It’s like a location-aware Twitter: you can post comments about what’s happening in your neighborhood, and Blockchalk publishes them along with the location from which you posted. It keeps things anonymous – it doesn’t post your exact address (unless you give it permission), opting instead for “on this block,” “within two blocks,” etc. I could see users posting thoughts about local restaurants, goings-on, news, etc. There are mobile apps for the iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Palm Pre and Nokia Ovi. It strikes me as being in the same vein as foursquare, albeit with more commenting ability. If you try it, let us know what you think.
