Variety reports that Conan O’Brien could be back on TV as soon as this September. While the deal to push Conan off NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien” aren’t finalized, it’s reported that part of it will include a short non-compete clause that would expire in September. The logical landing place for Conan would be at Fox. From Variety”
“Fox is doing nothing to quash speculation that they’re the most obvious home for the displaced host. “We’ve pretty vocal about wanting to be in business with Conan,” Fox Entertainment chairman Peter Rice told Daily Variety. “It’s a bit premature to say where he will be, but first and foremost, it’s about where Conan wants to be.”
Having Conan on at, say, 11 pm (ET/PT) would make things interesting for Fox affiliates. It would put them head-to-head with their local competitors’ news.
