The newest addition to the explosion of local and hyperlocal sites comes to us from California, where the Orange County Local News Network site is launching today. It is partnering with the LA Times Media group to supply content and partner on ad sales. According to ClickZ, the effort already has two advertisers with multi-month committments.
Orange County Local News Network is part of the US Local News Network, which runs two other web-based locals in California: the San Diego News Network and the Southwest Riverside News Network. According to the company’s press release, the US Local News Network is looking to roll out 40 sites in the next 24 months.
