Fisher CEO wins Borrell’s Innovator of the Year

Colleen Brown

Fisher President/CEO Colleen Brown won the “Innovator of the Year” award at this week’s Borrell’s Local Online Advertising Conference in New York. Brown was noted for overseeing the launch of more than 100 hyperlocal sites and surpassing 1,000 local clients. According to Broadcasting & Cable:

“Borrell Associates CEO Gordon Borrell said the effort is notable because it represented a ‘counter-culture change’ for a TV broadcaster to reach that many smaller businesses in such a viable, self-sustaining Internet venture.”

You can see excellent examples of Fisher’s work at the site for KOMO in Seattle, under neighborhoods.

  1. So far the best thing Fisher Broadcasting has accomplished here is to change their TV callsigns BACK to KBOI 2 and attempt to improve their local newscast, a bit of a dog for a while.

The real test will come when the Olympics begin and viewers search for stable newscasts at regular times. The NBC affiliate. KTVB has been heavily focused on the Idahoans in Haiti and they will lose such stories to a degree for two weeks, 24/7, a news/entertainment subchannel at 7.2 and 7.3 NWCN notwithstanding.

I know KIVI 6 has stoked the burners and it's obvious Fisher is burning out the tires headed for a dragrace.
