Here’s a very cool idea. Gowalla and the NBA’s New Jersey Nets have teamed up for a ticket contest that’s a first, as near as we can tell. The team is giving away pairs of tickets in New York and New Jersey to people who check in using the location-based service. From the Gowalla blog:
“The iconic tickets will be scattered at sports bars, pubs, sporting goods stores and other venues around New Jersey and New York City where you might go to watch a basketball game this weekend. A team from Gowalla will be on hand at IZOD Center the evening of the game and an email will be sent to those who find the tickets with redemption instructions.”
500 tickets are being given away for the contest. The game is on April 12 against the Charlotte Bobcats and is the final game of the regular season which, admittedly, has been less than stellar for the 11-66 Nets.
