I’ve been trying to get an iPad for weeks now through Best Buy. They have a nice 18-month credit program. The trouble is they don’t seem to have many in stock. You can’t get on a waiting list or reserve one, so unless you happen to walk into a store the moment they get an iPad, you’re out of luck. Apparently, I’m not the only one frustrated by this. Research firm Piper Jaffray reports that even the Apple stores themselves are having a hard time keeping up with demand. The firm called 50 Apple stores and found 37 stores were sold out, 13 stores had WiFi-only models, and all 50 were out of the 3G version. Apple sold one million iPads in its first month of release. Imagine what the number would be if you could find one.
