Amy Wood
LR Pal Mike Malone at B&C has a
list of the top Twitterers in local TV news. Leading the charge, of course, is our fave rave Amy Wood (
@TVAmy) at WSPA in Spartanburg. (Confession/Disclosure: Amy was a client.) Amy uses social media smartly, connecting with her audience and keeping in touch throughout the day. You don’t have to live in Spartanburg to appreciate what she does. I hate to use follower numbers as a strict metric, but @TVAmy does have 13,000 followers. Another amazing stat: she has sent out
nearly 25,000 tweets. Other big local TV Tweeps:
Dorothy Lucey at KTTV in LA (@dorothylucey) with 11,000 followers
Pete Delcus at powerhouse WFAA in Dallas (@wfaaweather) has 10,000 followers
Michael Finney (@mfinney) at KGO in San Francisco has 5,500 followers
Alexis DelChiaro (@alexisdelchiaro) has about 5,500 followers as well, and resides at KSAZ in Phoenix
(You may follow me @steviesaf or @lostremote to try and boost our numbers into this auspicious pantheon.)
UPDATE: @gabbycat tweets us to point out that KIRO’s AM traffic anchor, Jennifer Hogan (@jennihogan) tops this list with 16,000 followers. Nice work. Anyone know of other tweeting TV people who should be on the list?
