Inside look at Amazing Race’s use of Foursquare

CBS has unleashed a brand Foursquare page for the 10th season of the hit, award-winning reality show, The Amazing Race. The show lends itself perfectly to Foursquare’s new explore and list building features, since contests travel all round the world during the show. While there is no financial partnership yet between CBS and Foursquare around the show’s use of the platform (i.e. badges), the amount of content CBS has invested in producing for the platform is pretty robust.

Foursquare’s Head of Media Partnerships Jonathan Crowley spoke to us about the uniqueness of the brand page. “CBS had a great idea to promote foursquare and everything they’ve done in the past,” he explained. “They can took footage, content and tips from previous seasons. If you check-in, Phil [the host] will say where they taped the scene in season three.” Crowley added that this was a very unique and detailed partnership because CBS leveraged Foursquare’s platform by creating lists and “unique video content” just for the partnership that they link to throughout the experience.

Foursquare’s working on something “that’s really awesome,” in the TV space according to Crowley that we’ll be hearing about soon.
