Don joined the Lost Remote blogging squad in June, 2007 after years of checking the site multiple times each day for the latest scoop. He is part of the team that develops digital initiatives for the KTVB News Group in Boise, ID. Don has been involved with KTVB.COM and ZIdaho.com in some form since joining Belo in 1999.
The Radio-Television News Directors Association recognized KTVB.COM with an unprecedented four straight Edward R. Murrow awards for best website in the NW region. In addition to a variety of other local and state awards, readers of the Idaho Statesman newspaper twice voted KTVB.COM “best local news site.” He also produces ZIdaho.com – an online destination for free classifieds, cars, jobs and local stores.
He also spent time as producer of KTVB’s News at Ten. The program won a Northwest Regional Emmy and Idaho State Broadcaster’s award for best newscast. He also produced a variety of newscasts for NorthWest Cable News in Seattle, WA.
He’s been blogging since 2003, when he founded IdahoRadioNews.com – an up-tempo look at the noise listeners hear on Idaho’s airwaves. Despite its niche, the site is consistently one of Idaho’s most visited blogs.
His freelance web design clients range from a national chain of coffee houses, to a small clothing company based in Boise.
Don found the perfect personal/professional zen while simultaneously field producing and blogging the 2007 Fiesta Bowl, where he was on the sideline for Boise State University’s improbable, trick-filled win over the Oklahoma Sooners, in a game that many have called one of the greatest ever played.
