Michael GayMichael is the Executive Producer for Hearst-Argyle Television’s 29 station websites across the United States. He is based at the headquarters of Internet Broadcasting where he works closely with the IB staff to coordinate online content efforts.

Before being hired by Hearst-Argyle, Michael worked for CBS as the Web Manager for WBBM-TV in Chicago from 2003-2007. There he formed the station’s first Web team and re-launched the station’s award-winning website. cbs2chicago.com was honored with a regional Edward R. Murrow Award and was a finalist for a national Online Journalism Award from the Online News Association.

From 2001-2003, Michael headed up the Web efforts for KRON-TV in San Francisco during the site’s separation from sfgate.com. Michael oversaw the formation of the station’s first dedicated Web team and coordinated the launch of the standalone site. kron4.com was named Best Website in California and Nevada by the Associated Press, and Best Website by the Radio-Television News Directors Association of Northern California.

Before San Francisco, Michael served as Internet Coordinator for WLNS-TV in Lansing, MI and was the director of the 6PM and 11PM newscasts at WILX-TV in Lansing, MI.

Michael has a Telecommunication degree from Michigan State University.
